Turkish Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy

Turkish Airlines offers an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service for children between the ages of 7 and 12 who are traveling alone. Here's an overview of the airline's UM policy:

Booking

The UM service must be requested at the time of booking the flight. The UM will be charged an additional fee, and the service is subject to availability.

UM Assistance

The UM will be accompanied by a Turkish Airlines staff member at all times during the journey. The staff member will assist with check-in, boarding, and disembarking, and will provide supervision during the flight.

UM Requirements

The UM must have all necessary travel documents, such as a passport or ID card, and must be able to travel independently. The UM must also be able to communicate in the language of the departure and arrival countries.

UM Service Form

A UM Service Form must be completed by the parent or guardian at the time of booking. This form includes information about the UM's travel arrangements, contact information for the parent or guardian, and any special needs or requests.

UM Meeting Requirements

The person picking up the UM at the destination airport must meet the UM at the gate or baggage claim area and must present a valid photo ID. The person picking up the UM must be designated in the UM Service Form.

UM Restrictions

Turkish Airlines does not allow UMs to travel on connecting flights, and UMs are not allowed to travel on flights that have a stopover of more than 6 hours.

It's important to note that the UM service may vary depending on the destination and the flight. Parents or guardians should contact Turkish Airlines customer service team directly to inquire about specific requirements or restrictions for their child's travel.
